PhER-02 appears to have many advantages over human blood and other blood
substitutes. The advantages of PHER-02 are:

1. Can be stored and shipped at room temperature.

2. Has a long-term shelf life, 3 years vs 35 days of a declining potency.

3. Does not require typing and cross-matching (A,B,O, etc. )

4. Minimizes or alleviates transfusion reactions.

5. Prevents viral and bacterial infection transmission, AIDS , hepatitis B & C.

***6. Can be used without the need for increased oxygenation of the patient.

7. Has controllable circulatory half-lives, for different medical applications
(e.g., major blood loss or cancer).

8. In all probability will not cause pulmonary hypertension, allergies, or reactions with
blood components which occurred in the first generation product, Fluosol DA-20

These represent major improvements over the work performed on Fluosol DA-20 at
Green Cross/Alpha Therapeutics over the last decade.
