NeverRight,

Your comment on "this silly game of guessing earnings". The way the game has been played on other threads is a newcomer comes into the group, just prior to earnings release, sparks the guessing games, some other shorts add to the game by predicting blowout earnings. (You'll often hear something like.."I'm new here, just a college kid with a few shares, etc..) They'll pump up the average. Earnings come out and they blast away at that the earnings didn't meet the threads expectations....it's a fun game, if your a short.

To those that are honestly trying to guess earnings. The analysts that do this for a living with pretty good guidance from the company are frequently off. Remember that consensus earnings are an average of the analysts. Looking at the individual analysts, you'll often find a pretty large spread within the group.

If you're trying to intelligently guess the estimates, you would have to know a lot of financial detail about what happens in the last few weeks to days of the quarter. What makes you think that anyone on this thread has better access/information than the company does. You have a better chance throwing at a dart board. Expect what the analysts are predicting adjusted according to any guidance offered by the company.

Best Regards,
Jim
