Mark you make a good case for choice when you state the following;
I am just as entitled to not believe in literal interpretation as you are to believe in it.
Would you then not feel betrayed by God... if... He rehabilitated you to believe His every word, when in fact you choose not to?....Just a thought.

I just dont agree with the passage you pasted in your
post. It doesnt ring true for me. that doesnt mean that it shouldnt have great and legitmite meaning for you.
Mark, there are various reasons why the Bible may not, as you term it, ring true to you, and I will not get into those here. But I will say this, that the word of God is crystal clear.

I get the impression that my comments, if not my presence, on this thread irritates you. If htat is true, I am sorry for that.
Mark I am a very tolerant person, and I don't spend enough time here to be irritated by anybody. Praise God!.... Well maybe a few posters...sometimes... smile... I suppose that if I were to read all of everybody's posts I might be inclined to get somewhat irritated, but God knows I am only human. And Thanks be to God I have much more important things in my life which keeps me very busy and joyful, than to spend it being irritated by virtual strangers.
I enjoy life to its fullest, and people of all walks of life make it even that more interesting. I have had millions of conversations about God and His Son Jesus the Christ, with peoples of various beliefs and backgrounds and one things remains constant,.... everybody has something to say on the subject. Everybody.
Mark on a side note, you made some comments about a second chance, well you were close. There is coming a time, when all who have never heard the name Jesus Christ or anything about this man who died for them, will have a chance to learn of Him and then make a choice. There are also those who for various legitimate reasons according to God's judgment, are blinded to the truth of Jesus Christ, and will in fact have a chance to learn the truth of Him. This time is after the first death (the death of the flesh) and before the second death, (the death of the soul). It will be a time of great discipline and learning. A time when they will be taught the difference between the holy and the profane. So maybe this fits somewhat into your rehabilitation notion....But after that a choice must be made, and then the judgment.....This is however, not a second chance for anyone.
God truly is a loving and fair God there is none like Him.
