Jim, an all - your description of my education, experience and research were correct, and I have expressed interest in going on the trip, should it happen. Since a few people asked yesterday about my background,I will add just a couple more details. As Jim mentioned, my expertice is not mining engineering, but I am a field geologist by education and training. I spent 7 years in environmental consulting (as did most oil and mining geologist from the 70's and 80's) performing drilling and sampling projects, a great number of which were in alluival deposits such as this one, before enrolling full time at CSM for my master's degree. I can't tell you I'm the best person available to analyze a mine deposit, but private consultants are expensive and I would add some measure of technical insight. Thanks again to all who were interested enough to read my lengthy posts.
as always, if any one questions about the geology of the Cangalli area, or mining techniques such as the acid leach process, I have reviewed Mr Paravicini's brief summary of his investigation available on the GE web site, and have started in on the 1991 report.
