LEE and all: i promised some books to a few people on SI. I am mailing the following books to you lee. (i found them while making room for the fresh batch.) What i would like is that you lend them to other people, here on SI and we can exchange the books that we like or found relevant to the market) I am sending you my personal copy of options a personal seminar. I do want it back, but i am not trading for the next few months, so, maybe you'll use it. I will recopy this post and start a thread about books we can trade off. I am hyping intelligence here, somebody hug me or kill me. BOOKS-
1)CRISIS INVESTING FOR THE REST OF THE 90'S DOUGLAS CASEY this was a good book, albeit totally wrong in its timing. The money that was running around from the bilked S+L's and other takeovers and mergers of the 80's had to go somewhere, so it went to the market. Great strategy for the balance of the 90s
2)MERCHANTS OF DEBT GEORGE ANDERS great descriptive book of what was going on during all those 80's buyouts and leverage and junk bonds.. KKR's Story
3)INSIDE JOB PIZZO,FRICKER,MUOLO THE DEFINITIVE BOOK ABOUT SL SCANDALS- IT WILL TAKE A WHILE TO GET THROUGH AS THE CAST OF CHARACTERS IS HUGE. mORE THAN YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW IS HERE.
4)ROBERT HALF ON HIRING ROBERT HALF famous recruiter's take on the biz. always good to know if you are hiring or firing, or looking for work.. (SHarkproof by Mackay was good, but its out)
5) STAND UP TO YOUR STOCKBROKER CONSUMER REPORTS BOOKS many of the reasons we all trade thru e...brokers as well as a small investors rule book.
6) GOING FOR BROKE john rothschild great book about that candian dude, robert campeau. also great insight to retail mergers in the big 80s. other related stuff, and bankruptcy stuff.
7)The New York City Almanac ed forlie maybe give you rednecks a little taste of whut we gots up nawth.. that keeps us here
8)the options book.
I have tons more, nut those are the handful i grabbed, all fiction books and non market stuff bio's etc went to family members. If you don't want me to mail it, let me know it is boxed and ready to go. i would like you to put your name on the inside cover, and your email address, and ask whoever you lend them to to do the same.
(also when anyone gets the book, they should email me to let me know who gave it to them. Lets see how far around the world these things can go. |
