Maurice!
A question for you and the others.Ericsson and QCOM is meeting in court to decide if QCOM is infringing on any patents that Ericsson owns.I don't know the chances for Ericsson to win in court.Maybe they are slim .But lets say that Ericsson will win.Let's say that QCOM is infringing on only 1 of the patents and that this patent is used in the system so you can't come around it without redesigning the phones and the infrastructure and Ericsson in this scenario says that they refuse to licence it to CDMA-One manufacturers.I don't think Ericsson will do this in that situation but my question is.Can they do that?
Stop all the CDMA-One networks around the world. If this scenario is
possible QCOM is playing a game with high stakes when they refuse to
license their patents to W-CDMA if that standard is not changed./R
