There is an old rule of thumb in the market.... Whenever a stock makes the cover of Time Magazine as Yahoo did this week with lots of hype inside...sell it. This theory is hard to precisely quantify but it has a good track record. The spin I would put on it that once you have made the cover there are no new worlds to conquer and the mystery behind the share performance is gone. It was also worth noting that YHOO two founders seem to be running this company by the seat of their pants...really unorganized.
