Wait a second, Marc.
I had dinner the other night with a friend who works at a Silly Valley non profit. This org. was instrumental in getting almost every grade school in the area wired with refurb'd machines, but they're up against it now that the telcos are lobbying hard against any further school wiring (they sense that they're losing money on the deal...so much for altruism).
Anyhow, my friend had a really, really distorted view of the Mac's present situation, which surprised me given her job and where it's located. According to her, the Mac (and Apple) has all but disappeared in Silicon Valley.
I don't know what to think, but it sounds like more of a problem for internet equipment providers than for comp hardware companies. We'll see...I just don't know how much longer the federal money will keep flowing as it has been.
Hell yes I'm in a good mood! I own AAPL (@19.5), UMG (since US West's split from Ma Bell!), and LU (@33.4 split-adjusted); what's not to be happy about?!
Good luck to all tomorrow. I don't think we'll see much of a pullback, actually.
Mark
