Although not a summary, I can post some random impressions I gleaned, which were not reported on the press release. First on my list is an issue, about which I had expressed some concern about in numerous posts, and which has always been a sticking point with the investment community--the publication of the tie ratios. For the first time, IOM published figures breaking down disc sales for ZIP etc. as well as Zip drives etc. This move was applauded by the analysts attending the meeting. Obviously cash flow negative is bad, but the fact that they were $40 million cash flow negative versus the pre-announced $60 million was positive. The return rate on Zip and Jazz drives has gone down 30-40% during the past year, so IOM has seen an increase in customer satisfaction and quality. Another issue, which caught my attention was in response to a question concerning having the Zip drive as only removable storage drive in a box. Apparently it requires reconfiguring the BIOS, which means that HiFUD will probably encounter similar problems. So it won't be as simple as HiFUD coming in and just setting up shop. Inventory was significantly reduced. Management feels that move to an OEM model for Zips is accelerating. Management expects $100 million in cost cutting savings during the next year. My overall impression was a C+/B-. I expect stock to float around six and change for a while.
