Dear Joseph et al:

I've been watching this thread since May. I'm not an investor even though I was very tempted to. I'm with an internet and RF R&D project
and I am really curious what the problems were. Other than rain fade, Point-Point should be actually a good technology unless CAI did not put up enough sites (inexcusable considering the investment given them) I'm not sure whether the real reason was that the telcos perceived that dbs was a more immediate solution and saved them from huge infrastructure costs (they could well BUY a dbs system like AlphaStar for less than their investment in CAI) and also the permit/planning process needed for every municipality they entered. It just seems rather strange coming from a technologists point of view.
As for the filing, I would be willing to bet my car (old SAAB 900T) that management did indeed get indications from the powers that be at the telcos that the project would be terminated soon. C'mon, now, if your friends stopped speaking to you, would'nt you know? I suggest looking at some "informal-luncheon" receipts in recent weeks and appointment books and day-timers and there COULD be a link there.
Best of luck. I think the spectrum is still worth something, but municipalities by themselves would not go for a "downrated" technology risk.
