The promotion is called "Novell First Look" and is designed to encourage customers to purchase Netware this quarter instead of waiting for the release of Netware 5. When customers get a copy of Netware 4.11 they have the ability to buy the "first look" promotion pack and will receive an upgrade to Netware 5 automatically when it is released. It is not a "free upgrade" as it is paid for in advance, but the customer saves a fair amount of money by doing it now. BTW- All versions of Netware 3.12 or later have patches/fixes that make them Y2 compliant. (Netware 3.12 customers only need buy the 3.2 enhancement pack) Currently everything shipping from Novell now is compliant - it was a direct mandate from Eric Schmidt. Steve
