CSCO would love to buy ASND; problem would be an early divorce. Likewise, CSCO does not need ASND, they only need to get rid of ASND. ASND has too many suitors to settle for such a mismatch. The only reason CSCO would buy ASND is to take them apart and bury the technology. Hopefully ASND sees this and resists any take over from CSCO or similar suitors. CSCO would rather continue to control the technology and protocol of the network than deliver higher speed communications. Like IBM,MSFT, and other dominate companies in the computer industry, CSCO would rather milk their technology for everything it is worth than create new technology. In contrast, ASND is trying to figure out how to break CSCO down and defeat them on new technology fronts.
