Colin:

If I understand the B&A were 2.36/2.43 and last was 2.43...sale of 400 shares was at 2.37

My explanation...who the heck knows, but I'll take a stab at it:

Seller's objectives:
-needed to get rid of the shares asap.
-wanted to make sure that the sale occurred...asked for a lower price.
-if he put in a price restriction of 2.37...there may have been a chance of someone putting in an offer to by at 2.37 or at market only 400 shares.

Buyer's objectives:
-could have only $1000 to spend. So, 2.37*400=948+40 comm.=988
-buyer put on price restriction of 2.37, since at a penny more he might not have enough funds.

...got to understand that some people place certain resistances in spending on stocks. Some might say I have 5k to play with and not a penny more.

If there is a all or none restriction on the Canadian stocks, the order is treated differently and is placed 'behind the scenes' in order to get it filled.

Brokers's objectives:
Commission, commission, commission....

Hope this helps...If anyone else has 2c more, please add them.

ps 400 shares is not an odd lot at 2.37

Board lots:
Share price below 10c...lot = 1000
Share price 10-99c...lot =500
Share price $1.00 or higher...lot = 100
