Patrick: I believe the markets are in a new era. With the advent of PC's, Net Brokers, Net Bulletin Boards, Net Chat, Net Stock Guru's, Etc., the age of the "groupie" investor is upon us.

Many have all the above, but no real schooling in the markets. And, this is not limited to young investors. Many of the threads on SI, dedicated to a particular stock, have investors acting more like they are cheerleaders for a sports team, than investors. Loyal to the death (and wallet) to their chosen stock.

I, as many, have problems with the market valuations, not to mention many of today's popular tech and net stocks. Now, having realized the above, it is easy to understand how hype and S/MM manipulate this new group of new investors I call "groupies".

I recently concluded, that FA does not count much anymore. Hype is the key, to manic moves in individual stocks. The S/MM have a ripe group to fleece. (They have always done it, just not so blatant!)

This recent realization has moved me, once again, to become a day trader. I might as well join the S/MM in sheering the sheep.

LG

PS: Many of the "groupies" on SI are insulting, rude and immature. And, this is on a pay bulletin board. Forget spending any time on boards like Yahoo.
