As others like RobertK have posted, todays news was important. While it may take a while for the full importance to be understood I think there are 3 immediate results. The analyst that follow XOMA will have this news to talk about. 2. Mutual funds and hedge funds that might have had some interest in XOMA will probably regard the lifting of the question of any INCY impact as a positive event. 3. In any negotiation XOMA's position is greatly enhanced because it no longer can be beat up over the previously unknown role INCY patents might play.

I also think this INCY agreement will speed up those parties that already had some interest in becoming partners with XOMA. Would you like to be working for a large corporation and screw up a fair deal with XOMA because you kept trying for more, based upon the fact that there were some questions about the importance of the INCY patents? There must be some out there who used this line in trying to get better terms for their side. It was a reasonable argument.

Yes, I would have liked to see the stock move today on the news but I have no doubt Bob is right, this is a fundamental change. And it is a change for the better.

Does BPI work? Read the hundred of research papers written and the patents and come back and post your answer. Ask Tashica and the other kids.
