That could be exactly what the person is, an investor. By nature an investor has to take on some degree of risk. Say he gives a $5 million loan that is collateralized by $2 million in stock, but if it works out he ends up with stock worth a hell of a lot more that that. Also, this investor (if private placement) could be privy to information that we are not. green
