Mohan:
U.S senate empowers the President to lift sanctions for one year.

Now it appears that the initial outrage has mellowed and later transformed to business as usual, in the interest of farmers and trade.

heard rumor of a 3 to 1 split but I very much dobt it 2 'fer' 1 seems logical but I will take the 3-1.

DELL:
2 to 1 split is more likely. I wonder whether the split will be announced today or later at the time of Earnings Report in 8/98. The Dell management can keep the upward momentum, if the split is announced today. Assuming split announcement today, the pop will be huge.

I noticed that you mentioned something about Japa Mantra your cousin in India recites:
Let me end my post with:

OM Namah Sivaya
Prostrations to Lord Siva.

For the uninformed let me give a little info.
Lord Siva is part of the Hindu Trinity, namely Siva, Brahma and Vishnu. Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Siva, the Cosmic Dancer preside over birth, life, & death. This Triad pervades all things at all times. Even inanimate objects go through this cycle. Destruction or death is the necessary ingredient in this Triad for the old making way to the new. Symbolically destruction, I understand, also applies to the fate of one's lower nature, giving rise to a new positive nature or a new higher self.
