Scrapps; yes but the other two numbers given by the e-schwab software were busy also. I definitely tried them, to no avail. I even tried the 800# on the number set-up screen to find other numbers; I figured I would try typing in a different city and have the system give me some new numbers: Surprise surprise, the 800# was busy also.

All this took time, and it's ironic because just today I heard e-schwab's radio commercial where the woman says something like "All I get is busy signals, while the stock I want gos up, up, up." Only problem is, she was supposed to be using a competitor's system. What e-schwab's commercial says happens at competitors happened to me today, and I was using e-schwab. I suppose it's obviously true that because of Mr. Greenspan's comments all the channels to brokers were overloaded, but it doesn't make me feel anymore comfortable. When I want to make a trade, I want to make it now, not sometime hours later. I think the only solution is to get an additional line, and then just leave the computer hooked up to the internet full-time.

I just now got disconnected from my ISP, which reminds me: That's another thing that has been happening several times a day, for no reason at all! Sigh...I know Win95 unhooks if there's no activity for X minutes, (which I have set to 40), but I'm getting disconnected totally at random. I have a feeling I'm going to be switching to AOL anyway, as my ISP is less than enthusiastic about 56Kbps. My one-year service paid in advance runs out the end of May, but I doubt I'll be waiting for it to expire. I think I'll be jumping ship as soon as AOL has those 56Kbps hubs up and running...

Dwight.
