Let me get this straight:

-increase in unemployment to 4.5%.
-declines in manufacturing employment during 4 of the past 5 months.
-.6% drop in factory/mine/utility output.
-a poor .1% increase in retail sales.
-decline in business inventories (the first in 23 months).
-GM
-high paid manufacturing jobs being lost = less money to buy things.
-high dollar makes our goods out of touch in Asia.
-cheap asian money brings in cheap imports to compete with ours.
-stock valuations at historical highs.
-AND the bull/bear advisor ratio is over 50% bulls.
-AND my wife's company just lost a $2 million contract due to the GM strike...can we say, "let's cancel that deck we were going to build?"

I know more companies are beating expectations than disappointing, but really...is this market for real? It has me scratching my head.

On top of all that we get idiots like this on the SD thread:
