AGN has 65 million shares outstanding, but that number is irrelevant. I calculated that AGN had about 3.9 million shares of LGND, but their profit has already been stated as being $5.5 million pretax, so their outstanding shares are irrelevant. The relevant info (number of shares sold and at what price on what date) would be in an SEC filing. The info was not released in AGN's press release. AGN has paid $6, $7.70, $8.27, and $11 for LGND stock, but without knowing what was sold and at what price, the number of shares sold in 2Q could be as little as 500,000 and as many as 2 million shares.
