Tim, I have little doubt that DVD will be popular. The local Blockbuster sore said they will carry DVD on a trial basis. They said more and more customers are asking for them now. Some small video stores alreay have them for rent. I have a couple of friends have DVD players. Once they bought the players, they have been buying new DVD discs. The habit of buying music CDs will be carried over.
DVDs will be as popular as music CDs and VHS tapes if not more and replacing them all plus other multi-media functions.

There is no reason that the DVD players will not be sold at attractive prices very soon.

The question is: will C-Cube sell more of their chips over competitors for DVD hardware?
