According to the link below (fifth paragraph down), Q2 1998 zip drive shipments were up 35% on a unit basis over Q2 1997.

Absolutely right. Thanks for the correction.

My point is still valid, however. Zip drive unit sales up 35%, disk sales up 44%. This does not indicate declining tie ratios.
