My question is this: Why do unhappy individuals who feel they are being constantly screwed stay with Datek? I had an hour market order with Discover and a very poor customer service response, what did I do? I took my business elsewhere, not constantly complain about service and continue to lose money.

I sorry but it is not Datek that is looking bad, but some individuals who say they are losing thousands and just complain. I believe a poster here has said "goodbye Datek" at least 10 times in the past month. My cynical nature tells me that this individual has an suspect motive for slamming Datek. Why else would they stay?

I am a satisfied customer, at least as far as expectations go for online brokers. I have done the rounds with other brokers over the last year and Datek had the attributes I wanted. I am a short term trader, not a daytrader, and it meets my needs.

One final note. I notice some posters are complaining about fills in fast running stocks. Unless you are on the floor or a market maker an internet broker, any internet broker, is two strikes against you before you even submit your order.
