You are right, alex, that is why I would never go to their chat rooms. I think most of us are here because:
1: we are trying to trade info
2. The price to get in limits the idiots
3. We enjoy chatting with people at our level.
I have engaged in several long discussions on-line at the "Gorilla Game" site about why AOL is not a gorilla, and the key point is low switching cost.
We came to the conclusion that the $$ switching cost was low, but the inertia of most people to change, makes a mental switching cost high.
I held off on buying this stock for a long time because of all the reasons we are hearing right now from the "Shorts". But I just couldn't resist the momentum, and of course, am very happy right now, (I am in a 66)
