I have a bit of info.When I talked to Barry last week, He, told me that they were doing some building in Oklahoma right now. That's what he told me.He also told me that if I got in touch with anyone from the tribal council in SD, to mention Dustins' name because he had been to SD and talked with a lot of people.So, here is what I found out today from my friend. The ROSEBUD RES. has a new tribal Chief, named Norman Wilson his # is 605-7472381. My friend also told me that if, a Native American Veteran wants to live on the RES., he gets 10 acres of land for free. So It would be very hard to build on privately owned property, unless the person came up with the 20,000 himself. But,the tribe owns land that they call homesite land, so the council could let ARET build on those pieces of land. They are also 10 acre parcels. Merv, told me the reason they made them 10 acres each was because of horses,livestock, etc. Merv went on to tell me that the new tribal Chief if very receptive to making Rosebud a better place to live for his people and that it is the most advanced Res. in SD. Which ,he said meant they had the funds to try this program.Merv also told me about grants but I told him that Dustin takes care of that also. I just called ARET to tell Barry ,so he could check it out but they were already closed. That happens a lot when your on MT. time. If anyone knows Barry good enough to pass on this message, it will save me a phone call. I'm not cheap I call Companies all the time but I don't work near a phone a lot.
