Folks, this is not so good. I just got off the phone with MS at Financial Intranet's offices. I was attempting to get some further info to validate my earlier post this afternoon and perhaps get a hint of when the big moment to log on might be? And...
Are you ready for this? Everything was on schedule going exactly according to plan this afternoon for the anticipated release and launch of the Website. With jubilant Siemens technicians going over and overseeing final details of transfer, housing and control of all data to secure servers, exhaustive systems checking and testing behind fire-walls etc. What do you know lightning strikes twice! Fibre optic cables are suddenly cut and talk about double misfortune, this outage causes crippling internal problems with specialized high speed modems literally incinerated.
Apparently, there was some kind of accidental severing of main fiber optic links, a completely externally perpetrated event, causing extensive damage to the sector and secondarily causing some localized internal problems. MS is deeply disappointed as he did not want to let us down, especially with everyone so upbeat about the launch.
Repairs are being worked upon today and over the weekend to restore service as soon as possible. Friends, I'm sorry to have be the bearer of these tidings...but I'm fairly sure of two things. One, I feel this glitch will be short lived and two, better times lie ahead...
All I can say is these things are sent to try us and can happen to the best of us.
