KZAP,

I had the same problem. I made about a 50% return on 100K last year but showed a 50K capitol gain. I am almost in the 39% bracket and had to pay 20K in taxes. I have cool my heels this year and have been trying to stay in stocks longer. On a 100% gain I would perhaps reduce my position by 50% and take some profit and let the rest ride if its got up side potential.

APCO has somewhat fizzled out and I have about 130% plus profit. I am considering bailing out after earnings since it has been flat for quite a while. I will wait but not for much longer. My money has been setting still for the last three months when other stocks continue to soar.
