Aren't you distorting things Shalom? I didn't even know soup kitchens could pray. I thought only people could pray. Those that run the soup kitchens are probably coercing those in need of food to pray, or they don't get the meal, isn't that it? Sort of like not giving the bone to the dog until it does your trick. Can't you see how dehumanizing that is? I am certain there would be no fuss if the person receiving the meal said a silent prayer giving thanks, as your Bible instructs. The difference is that the person is making the choice to pray on his own. Is this another example of voluntary prayer?
