Have been reading, but not posting lately. Bob and the market seem to be in a summertime breather period.

I am looking for a web site that gives statistics of the market over the long haul. Trying to settle an arguement with a friend and would like to know how much "new wealth" has been created as a result of the markets bull run over the past 10 years or so. I know this is a tricky subject, because a lot of the money is really "paper profit". But I am trying to argue that because of the market's stellar performance, that the average baby boomer has added to his or her wealth by a large amount.

While I know that statement is true, I am trying to get a handle on the relative numbers. If anyone has come across a site where someone has done a good general analysis of the market as it relates to wealth in America, I would appreciate the URL.
