sb, If the stocks are held in a 'tax free' account (IRA, ROTH) the trades are 'tax free'. The only time the money is 'taxed' is when the money is taken out of the account (IRA) or is 'tax free' on withdrawal (ROTH) after 5 year holding time. (That won't happen until 2004) Regards, Ken
