Website to offer Y2K stupidity awards
Dumb comments come from government and private sources
s far as Ken Orr is concerned, there's a whole mess of
dummies out there talking about the Millenium computer bug
-- and he wants you to know who they are.
Orr and the Ken Orr Institute, a technology and communications
consulting firm, have started www.Duh-2000.com, a site dedicated
to awarding the inane, as well as dopey, comments by government
officials, business people and anyone else who dares step into the
chilly Y2K waters in the mainstream media.
"Since we haven't been able to get people to stop saying really
dumb things about the Year 2000, we felt that maybe we can focus
media attention on them," said Orr, whose institute also has a Y2K
news site."So, we will be awarding a Duh-2000 each month for the
dumbest thing reported that month in press."
