News to me.

Possibly not. And the way things are headed, possibly not in India too.Intolerance towards dissenting points of view has seen a meteoric rise.

Oh really, this is news to me as I spend part of the year in India. What is your source or is it just wishful thinking????

And why this fixation with Pakistan?

Don't have any fixation with Pakistan, but I am however interested in them as a neighbor and wish to see them prosper as a democratic country and not as some backward theocracy who is hell bent on self destruction. Also my interest in them is of a lesser magnitude than your fixation with all things bad about India.

It is a ridiculous exercise for a country that considers itself to be a potential world superpower, to be indulging in.

No don't think so as I am not an official spokesperson for India and as such whatever I say, good or bad, about India is an expression of my personal views and not an official communique from New Delhi therefore I submit to you whatever exercise I indulge in, for or against India or the U.S or anybody else, is not a ' ridiculous exercise ', however to personify/equate me or my pronouncements as India though is quite laughable if you ask me.
