ZITL is a perfect example of "Irrational Exuberance". I agree, Stan, many shorts have been both long and short. I've successfully shorted ZITL 3 times before the split. Then I went long before the split (knowing the split phenomenon) and cashed in this week, again profitably. Sometimes I fear trading ZITL 'cause I'm going to the well too often.

Since I've shortd ZITL more often then going long, I'm more on the side that ZITL is just a "story stock" that has been hyped out of proportion. The split just intensifies things and makes ZITL look like a bargain. I would say most "investors" in ZITL are "speculators". I don't believe anybody that says they're going to hold their ZITL shares for over 3 years into the year 2000. Any stock where investors do not want to hold their stock for years has a problem in the long term.

Currently no position in ZITL,

<<Most of the shorts you refer to have played BOTH long & short all the time, now they are making a little money both ways, and you are sitting on hands watching the action you want to slam them. NOT NICE!>>
