If you count the odorant receptors, there are at least 1000 GPCRs. SNAP probably has patent protection on about 5 to 10, maybe more, and for several of these there are dual patents submitted. So, how many of these GPCRs are real targets, well no one really knows but is probably in the area of 100. Whether receptor sequence and "use" patents of this ilk will hold up in court remains to be tested.
