Now there's a good argument.

Here, let me dissuade once and for all hopefully the notion that spending more money, even lots more money, guarantees a win in the courts:

Dow Chemical just agreed to pay about 3 billion dollars as a result of a court case. Now, if Dow Chemical thought that they could overturn or negate the result by spending, say, 2 billion dollars on lawyers, then they would do so, right? Furthermore, if Dow thought they had a reasonable chance to overturn or negate the result by spending a few hundred million on lawyers, then they would do that, right? But they didn't think so. So either they're acting against shareholder interest, or maybe they know that spending arbitrary amounts of money doesn't guarantee you a win or even increase the odds that much beyond spending just a few million.
