Colin, you didn't ask me, but IMO you are making a complete ass of yourself by keeping this little titter going. I got me proxy today, which is, what, two weeks or less before the meeting? I already told Brad that I couldn't make it, etc., but imagine if you don't frequent SI or any other electronic forum, and you just got your notice two weeks prior? Maybe some of you folks don't need any real notice to just up and fly to Florida or anywhere else, but some DCI investors still have to work for a living, and probably would appreciate enough notice to at least be able to try and get a discounted air fare.
I am the CEO of a corporation, and we have fairly specific rules (i.e., bylaws) that govern when we have to send out notice re the annual meeting. Hell, even my homeowners association does, and it ain't two weeks prior. Now, I don't have any idea what DCI's bylaws or charter says re providing sufficient notice, but I wouldn't be too surprised to find out that it's more than two week.
Regardless, Ernie aimed some legitimate criticisms at DCI management, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Joe Murph himself would probably say that, yeah, he had hoped to get the notice out sooner, and would apologize for the delay. Of course, we'd here how busy they all are, etc. etc. Still, if I'm an outsider (or even a current shareholder) looking in, it could actually raise questions in his/her mind, and believe it or not, they aren't bloomin' idiots for thinking such thoughts!
As for me, I have this little half-theory/half-fantasy that goes like this: Joe is going to announce at the annual meeting that the deal is done and we can break out our shovels 'cause pay dirt has arrived. Hence, no more DCI annual meetings anyway, so to hell with rules and regulations! Either way, I'm in till the end, and frankly could care less what KUKLA and OLIE and Zwebner etc. etc. ad nauseum [sic] are doing with/to this stock day in and day out. My horizon is higher than my shoelaces, so I don't care! Onward and upward, eventually.
