More competition. Instantaneous 3D camera and IBM is endorsing it!

Sorry it does not appear to use Synthonics' technology. Wonder what Smithsonian would say if they new about this new 3D camera that requires no humna post-processing!
Remember that the info coming from the quarterly report mentioned by John B. is from the mouth you are feeding. I am not impressed. It seems like more "feel good" info with very little factual analysis and thorough comparisons. Bottom line is that we don't know the bottom line because they keep saying "just a few more months".
Why is Synthonics not demonstrating their technology (if it as awesome and important as they say it is) at SIGGRAPH 98, the premier whos-who annual event for computer graphics. Read below that the new 3D camera is being shown there. Is Synthonics afraid of the technical inquistion from lots of really knowledgeable and brigh people at SIGGRAPH. Why are they hiding?
The New York times had an article on the IBM project of imaging michelangelo's Florentine Piet… with the Virtuosor shape camera in the science section of 6/30/98 edition. Also on page 68-69 of this weeks issue of Newsweek.
Note, the mention of medical, antique, and applications mentioned below. They are targetting the exact same markets as Synthonics.
