I am getting more and more convinced in WAVE by the day.
<One of the most likely implementations is a low-cost encryption component tacked onto a chip in a PC's I/O subsystem. The I/O component would include basic encryption that would work in tandem with an upper layer of software, sources said.>
I know this has been posted many times already, but I'm willing to bet the farm that this is WAVX.
Ok, now lets check this out, 1) low-cost encryption component... check 2) tacked onto a chip in a PC's I/O subsystem.... check 3) The I/O component would include basic encryption... check 4) ? would work in tandem with upper layer of software...??? I'm not sure about this aspect but the Wave meter may require some type of software to allow it to run...
Anyway, 3 out of 4 is not bad, and the fourth may be true for WAVE also. This may or may not be true with the wavemeter, but I like what I am reading. The RCOM technology looks more like a means of replacing cash and identification cards in our society and not an encryption device embedded into PC's for security reasons (IMHO from what I have gleaned from the Racom website). Also, RAMTRON is in the business of manufacturing and developing FRAM which is the technology being used by RCOM in there smartcards. I doubt if either of these companies are related to the PC security issue in the mentioned article or related to WAVE's technology. If anything, the smartcard system will need a method of metering and charging someone's "account" after a purchase is made, the two technologies my be complimentary. I think that RCOM and RAMTRON both have huge potential as well, but it may be a few years down the road until they are implemented in full swing. These are my opinions and I am very optimistic about the potential of WAVE at this time. It is my only holding as of last week and I want to buy more. Anyone want to float me a loan? Thank you everyone for the great posts. The quality of information on this thread and the RAging bull thread amaze me. Good luck everyone. Here's to the future and success of WAVE!
