You are right but with all the negatives and warning coming out about the internet it could actually being taking a turn. DF got caught by a mere question. 5 days later it was discovered what has been fully disclosed to the SEC and the proper authorities.

The internet is going to be in the future a vitable option for catching these types. Promoters are getting exposed more and more by encouraging on line greed. People are taking a risk going out to the company and doing an on site visit.

The more you educate yourself and use common sense the more you can avoid the pitfalls of the pennies. But still no guarrantee though. If some has a plan or plot to rip off investors, it takes not totally believing everything you are told. Always be skeptical and weight the situation. Do not whine about it get some quick anwers as quickly as possible.

Example: When a company in the OTC struggling with no revenues and has gotten rid of its assets gives a 3:2 split, I did then and will now question it. Why give up stock that you could legally sell in a private placement to get capital to operate the business?

What about the news releases stating the board authorities the company to buy back up to X amount of stock. Notice the term "up to" they could but 100 shares and be done with it. The only way to know for sure is check the 144s filed that are filed to buy back stock.

Again is it a ploy to get buying to come in or what? Again common sense.
