Thomas - <<Thread: My take is that the sell-off in LLTC on Friday was related to the sell-off in XLNX. I read that LLTC and XLNX are competitiors in some fields - I guess all semiconductor related cos. were pretty weak on Friday.>>

The part about XLNX dragging down other semi stocks certainly fits the facts, but there is no competition between XLNX and LLTC at all.

However, there is a rationale for the stocks to have some correlation of movement, as the business environment for the many electronics manufacturers who are customers of both will affect order levels for both to some degree.

It is to be expected that there would be weakness before the earnings report, and any excuse to retreat would likely be taken. The question is not whether the future business outlook will be relatively weak, or at least uncertain, but to what degree.

Regards, Don
