Thanks for the "light Stamp" insights. I guess one could always remember that IBM has been doing research into Josephson Junctions for at least 30 years and has yet to produce anything useful.

The original light stamp would require ETEC or ETEC like technology to create, but thereafter the article seemed to indicate that copies could be produced for "pennies". Is this a major advantage for today's ICs. i.e. - What's the mask life for logic, DRAM, etc. relative to the life of that chip design. Are masks thrown out because there are more effective/efficient chip designs or because they've worn out?

Or, in other words, might this pose a threat to the Merchant Mask shops a few years down the road?
