Sybase and Intuit today unveiled a partnership to pursue financial institutions as customers and to make their financial software work together seamlessly.

Note: they're doing this to pursue more financial institution customers. Intuit knows it need to be an ally of the financial institutions to make their thing work. Without financial institutions promoting the utilization of quicken, and providing the information necessary to make it really useful to consumers attrition of their base would set in.
