What is WebFiler DB?

WebFiler DB is a Web database product that enables you to build online applications like product catalogs, customer registration, and inventory management, without advanced scripting and coding. WebFiler includes its own database engine that is compatible with desktop databases such as dBase and FoxPro and can provide ODBC connectivity to Access or enterprise-wide databases like Oracle. WebFiler forms can be fully customized with any HTML authoring tool. WebFiler was developed by Alpha Software Corporation, the maker of the award winning Alpha Four and Alpha Five desktop databases.

What platform does WebFiler run on?

WebFiler runs on Windows NT/95 Web servers that support CGI. WebFiler has been tested on Microsoft IIS, Netscape SuiteSpot and O'Reilly Website servers.

If you do not have access to a Windows NT/95 Web server, you can open a WebFiler Hosting Service account on Alpha Software's own server.

What client-side software is needed to use WebFiler?

All you need to interact with WebFiler is any Internet browser that supports frames, like Netscape 2.0 and above or Microsoft IE 3.0 or higher. Since WebFiler is completely browser-based, end-users on PCs, Macs, UNIX, and WebTV can all access data in WebFiler...
