Fred,
Case in point. Many years ago when I was working for Control Data, they announced the 6600 'super' computer. Shortly thereafter I read an article in one of the trade magazines, I think it was Datamation, that said that 10 6600's would be enough power to handle the entire world's need for computing power. A few years later I believe that Lawrence Livermore was using a 6600 as a front end for a 7600. Needs grow too.
