We used to see this sort of thing all the time in the late Marcos years, and I can understand why people are upset about it. I don't know how many unproductive firms the SSS and GSIS (local equivalents) ended up owning in those days, but it's a miracle that they have any money left at all. In fact, if you get right down to it (cynicism, possibly), they probably haven't. "fueling a recovery"... as always, the question is whose recovery? Steve
