Doren, Interesting deal between AMD and Motorola.
Apologies if it has been here already.
Could be positive for Apple vis-a-vis extra sources for parts and price competition. AMD loves to drop prices.

CHICAGO, July 18 (Reuters) - Motorola Inc. and Advanced
Micro Devices Inc. said they would announce on Monday a
strategic alliance related to the embedded and desktop
microprocessor markets.
In a joint statement, the companies said they would hold a
news conference Monday to explain details of a Motorola-AMD
alliance "to cross-license and co-develop technology." The
conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. PDT (1 p.m. EDT/1700 GMT).
Jerry Sanders, chairman and chief executive of AMD, and
Hector Ruiz, president of Motorola's semiconductor products
sector, will both attend the conference, the companies said.
AMD, based in Sunnyvale, California, provides
semiconductors to the telecommunications and computer
industries.
Motorola, with headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois,
provides wireless communications, semiconductors, and advanced
electronic systems, components and services.
