You admitted your own ignorance about Novell yourself. If you had educated yourself on the subject, you wouldn't have made your original post. The "Novell, dirt cheap good buy?" thread has a lot of good product information and good reasons to invest in Novell now if you can wade through the flaims.
Your original post showed you had not taken the time to follow your own advice, "ask yourself if this company is creating products a computing professional needs." In the software industry, a lot changes in 5 years. Educate yourself on the issues, then complain and you won't have to claim your ignorance and neither will we.
BTW, I don't hate MSFT. They are as responsible for my career as anyone else. However, I have learned through sad experience that Netware outperforms NT, which means more hardware in an NT network, which means more money and more IS costs. BTW, I'm certified on NT too; a professional necessity. I won't pontificate on the benefits of Netware, NDS, Border Manager, ManageWise, or GroupWise because there's plenty of good info on why the computing public needs these products on these threads and elsewhere.
If you don't want to miss opportunities, you have to know the facts.
