However, I wrestled with this decision and came up with a very workable idea (for me at least). I bought a second Hard Disk Drive (8.4 Gigabytes) and installed it in a removable cartridge than can slide in and out from the front of my computer - still working off the IDE connection. This gave me 8.4 Gigs of backup capacity for only $277 (when I bought the drive). Today, the same drive - an IBM - costs only $209. And the BACKUPs are fast! AT full Hard Disk speed. One day, however, I will get a a CD-R or CD-RW drive. Paul
