I did, however, format the new drive as a Windows 95 Bootable Disk with all the Win95 and system files copied to the drive. So, it will boot the machine but it will be "current" to the last time I copied all the WIndows System and registry files. For standard backup I use Novastor's Novadisk which I find quite adequate. Backup files are written to compressed files on the backup drive in a Folder that I designate for this purpose. After a periodic backup, I remove the Backup Drive and store it offline. I figure that it will have a lot less chance of failing if I only use it for backup operations - period! Paul
