Good morning.. here is some input... from some people that saw the report on CNBC

Heard CNBC "splash" and lets ALL give ...afbaafb Jul 20 1998 7:04AM EDTa big Thank You to CNBC. Thought the broadcast was very positive, reporters upbeat and general story one to get a persons attention, especially one comtemplating getting into ZAP and/or the internet area. Excellant piece of positive PR.
Have this question. Was this "splash" keyed to the international viewing public? Considering the time of day i.e. 6:25 a.m.ET, looks like the timing would have been great for Japan, et. al. If so, then we have a great story emphasizing the international bent of the Glazers intentions. Not much said about the Glazer desire to make ZAP an international story and, IMHO, that is one of the real messages here......ZAP intends (and, from what I can tell is doing it) to become THE WORLDWIDE INTERNET company. In a year or so, WOW. Can't wait, just can't wait. WOW!!! ÿ

MOMONEYFme_1998 Jul 20 1998 7:54AM EDTI Well guys
saw the report...great show, and I like it. Actually I love it! I may also add what the reporter mentioned, that in the beginning when Zapata announced that they had intention to become part of the Internet " many " were laughing at them.... But now the street are paying full attention to Zapata and their track record, and what they accomplished in the past few years under the Glazer domain. They also mentioned that at the moment there is no other Internet company with $170,000.000.00 in cash. Well guys, good luck to us " long"...get the martinis ready, or Dom Perignon, or what ever your taste is..and I'll see you all in the Bahamas.

2% of internet viewerscarnby_watcher (27/M/New York, NY) Jul 20 1998 8:24AM EDTDon't forget that the 2% figure is based on MediaMetrix statistics for only SEVEN of the 23 sites. MediaMetrix was pretty down on Glazer for saying that his sites, added together, made for one of the most popular sites on the web... but even they had to admit to the 900,000 viewers / 2% number. But they only counted the sites that they track, and they only track SEVEN of the zap.com sites!! In reality, the number may be significantly higher. |
